Ahh Black tomatoes have a flavor that is sweet, yet rich, smoky and complex. Cherokee Purple being a well known variety around here. I prefer the blacks to any others for tatse. Any one being honest will tell you all black tomato varieties seem prone to black mold, but it is easily managed with a fungicide like Daconil, and well worth the effort! Indian Stripe is my wifes favorite tomato.
